    Chapter 1. Laying Plans

    1. The art of gambling is of vital importance to ones state of mind.

    2. It is a matter of life and death, a road either to safety or to ruin. Hence it is a subject of inquiry which can on no account be neglected.

    3. In your deliberations, when seeking to determine the Bookmakers, let them be made the basis of a comparison, in this wise: --

    - Which of the Bookmakers is imbued with the Moral law?

  • One Change For Each Sport To Consider...

I'm getting older, and becoming the grumpy old man that hates to see change... Get off my lawn!!

Ok, I'm not that bad... And to prove it, I'm going to suggest one change for each of the following sports that might just make them more enjoyable for fans.

NBA: The game is changing before our very eyes. The days of dominant back-to-the-basket centers is gone, and now the mid-range game has all but left us. Thanks to those damn nerds that ruined baseball, they

  • Why the Mets should trade Noah Syndergaard and Matt Harvey...

July 8th, 1993, it was a Thursday. I had great seats behind the dugout, and was pumped to see the next great pitcher for the Oakland Athletics. He was being compared to Nolan Ryan. (whose pitches I used to chart on graph paper as a kid) His name was Todd Van Poppel... Three walks and a Mo Vaughn grand slam later, I was completely confused. This wasn't supposed to happen! The A's were down 4-0 and they weren't even out of the first inning! They would go on to lose the game 11-9. Van...

  • Don't Change Baseball, Change the Fans...

The 2015 season is just around the corner and the powers that be are in panic mode. They want to shorten the games, help offenses score more runs, and continue to distance themselves from the ongoing steroid issue. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Arod, pitch clocks, shifts, and smaller strike zones! All of these problems are a direct result of baseball turning a blind eye to steroid use the last time they thought the game needed to be fixed...

Lay off Arod! He is no...

  • Hate what A.J. Preller and the Padres are doing this off-season...

    2014 Record: 77-85
    Run Differential: -42

Let me start by saying I think the 2015 San Diego Padres will be a good team, but I absolutely hate what general manager A.J. Preller is doing this off-season. He is being praised by everyone it seems, but I personally think he's making desperate moves and killing the franchise long term.

Timing: I think timing is everything when it comes to winning in professional sports. (Just ask the Hakeem Olajuwon led Rockets...
